Logo Design
This project focused on analyzing the movie Catch Me If You Can and translating its key themes and plot elements into four symbolic icons and a central motif. Each symbol captures an essential aspect of the story: the Detective represents the relentless pursuit by FBI agent Carl Hanratty; the Magnifying Glass with Signature reflects the investigation of forged bank checks; the Airplane signifies Frank Abagnale’s masquerade as a pilot to evade capture; the Handcuffs symbolize the chase and eventual capture of the main character; and the Briefcase Motif embodies Frank’s accumulation of wealth through fraud. Together, these visuals provide a distilled, emblematic view of the movie, capturing its themes of deception, pursuit, and transformation through design.
For this project, my approach was to use a clean, minimalist line-art style to convey the core elements of Catch Me If You Can with simplicity and clarity. I focused on creating icons that would visually communicate the movie’s themes using sleek, refined lines in subtle shades of blue and green. This color scheme not only adds a sense of professionalism but also brings an airy, light quality to the designs, allowing each symbol to stand out without overwhelming detail. By employing minimalism, I aimed to let the icons speak for themselves, capturing the essence of each plot element and character trait in a way that feels modern and cohesive. This approach highlights my design philosophy of using simplicity to create impact, crafting visuals that are both accessible and conceptually rich.
