Overview

San Francisco offers a serene side perfect for a calm vacation. Surrounded by the tranquil waters of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, the city provides peaceful retreats like the serene Golden Gate Park, the quiet paths of Lands End, and the soothing ambiance of Ocean Beach.

Cozy cafes, scenic waterfronts, and charming neighborhoods like Pacific Heights invite leisurely strolls and quiet reflection. San Francisco's blend of natural beauty and serene spots makes it an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing getaway amidst its iconic landscapes.

For this project I designed the logo and wayfinding signage which can be used across the city of San Francisco. This included creating a logo which combines two concepts about reflecting the essence of the serene city and a set of icons depicting the main sights tourists would visit when venturing through the city's buzzing streets.

Approach

The first concept is The Golden Gate Bridge. It is an iconic scene with its majestic beauty spanning the tranquil waters of the Golden Gate Strait. Its red-orange hue against the serene blues of the ocean
and sky reflects the city's peaceful allure. The bridge embodies San Francisco's tranquil spirit and timeless elegance.

The second concept is calmness. The icon of a sunset symbolizes tranquility and peace found within the city. A calm sunset in San Francisco paints a serene scene as the sun sets over iconic landmarks and tranquil waters. It's a moment of natural beauty and reflection, inviting pause amidst the city's dynamic energy.

The icons were designed using a modern simplistic style using basic lines and patterns to create each

icon. The choice of this style was an allusion to the sophistication and modernism of the progressive city. The simplistic style allows for quick visual communication with the audience and suits a large

range of colors.
