"Tension" is a sculptural exploration of form and balance. The piece employs a dynamic interplay of intersecting steel planes, creating a sense of both stability and instability. The use of a gradient spray paint finish, transitioning from purple to rustic orange, adds a layer of visual interest and complexity to the sculpture. This chromatic shift enhances the interplay of light and shadow, further emphasizing the sculptural forms. The sculpture is intended to evoke a sense of tension and resolution, inviting viewers to contemplate the interplay of opposing forces.
For "Tension," I aimed to create a visually striking and thought-provoking sculpture that would engage viewers on multiple levels. I began by experimenting with different geometric forms and compositions, ultimately settling on a dynamic arrangement of intersecting planes. To add visual interest, I chose a gradient spray paint finish, transitioning from purple to rustic orange. This chromatic shift not only enhances the sculptural forms but also creates a sense of movement and energy. By carefully considering the scale, proportion, and materiality of the sculpture, I created a piece that is both visually arresting and intellectually stimulating.
